Getting Into the Swim of Things

Originally, the advanced theatre class was going to produce and perform a version of The Frog Prince, however, after discussing ideas and such, the class is now going to perform a production of The Little Mermaid. Not the Disney version, mind you. This show is going to be based faithfully on the original story by Hans Christian Anderson. If you are familiar with that telling, you will know it doesn't end as happily. As a hint for all of those Overlook Player people, Once on This Island was based on The Little Mermaid- if you know OOTI, then you know how this version of The Little Mermaid will end. We are planning to use puppets, (some giant and scary and some small and sweet) to tell the story, as well as some new lighting and scenic effects. It will be very different from any other school show we have done. Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 16th at 7:30 for the public showing of The Little Mermaid.

Something new to keep up with the FHS Theatre classes. Photos, journals, creative ideas and more, all to be shared. Here everyone can become a part of the process, post a comment or just enjoy the drama- on and off stage.
